FAQ

Questions before you call

Someone offered to cover my deductible. Is that normal?
No, and in Georgia it is insurance fraud — for them and potentially for you. A contractor who waives, absorbs or rebates your deductible is misrepresenting the loss to your carrier. It is also a fair signal about how they will handle everything else. Your deductible is yours to pay; anyone telling you otherwise is telling you something about themselves.
Should I file a claim before or after the inspection?
After, in almost every case. Once you file, the claim exists on your record whether or not it is approved. Getting documented photos first means you know whether there is a real claim to make, and if there is, your adjuster sees the same evidence you do.
How long does a replacement actually take?
One day for most Cobb County houses — tear off in the morning, dry-in by early afternoon, shingles on by evening. Larger or steeper roofs run into a second day. What takes longer is the claim, which is usually two to five weeks depending on the carrier.
What happens if the decking is rotted underneath?
We photograph it, show you, and price it before we cover it. Replacement sheathing is billed per sheet at cost plus labour, and it is written into most insurance scopes at a set allowance. You will never get a surprise line item you were not shown on the roof first.
Do you work outside Cobb County?
Cherokee and north Fulton, yes. Past that we usually say no. The warranty is only worth something if we can get back to your house quickly, and a two-hour drive makes that a promise we would end up breaking.
What does the workmanship warranty actually cover?
Ten years on anything that fails because of how we installed it — fastening, flashing, valleys, penetrations. The shingles themselves carry the manufacturer warranty, which is separate and longer. Both transfer once to a new owner if you sell.
